12 Steps to Sound Couple Relationship
The Program uses principally the evidence-based and continually researched and updated Gottman Method Couples Therapy to equip you with practical skills to repair neglected and damaged relationship, build foundation of friendship and emotional connections, navigate differences, resolve conflicts, and support each other through life’s challenges.
The Program is summarised as follows, though it will be customised according to the needs of each couple:
Assessment phase:
- Relationship history-taking and Gottman Relationship Checkup Questionnaire
- Individual and joint interviews
- Discussing the therapy Plan
Treatment phase:
- Basis for a safe and secure relationship
- Intentional and purposeful habit that repair and rebuild the foundation of good relationship
- Replacing toxic behaviour with skills that help couples connect and bond
- Articulating needs and meeting needs
- Uncover the hidden issues that stop couples from agreeing
- Navigating differences, managing conflicts, overcoming impasse
- Honouring each other’s hopes and dreams
Discharge Preparation:
- Setting a plan to sustain sound relationship practice
- Relapse prevention
Where necessary, Check-ins and Boosters may be arranged following discharge from the program.
